Two hands with a gold ring against a deep green background

Gold and pearl, finished by hand on the Essex coast

Recycled 18ct gold and cultured pearls, made to order in our Colchester atelier and fitted to you in person.

Our approach

We make a small number of pieces each season, by hand, at one bench by the Colne. Every ring is sized to the hand that will wear it.

Pearl

Pearls with the lustre left in

We buy cultured pearls from two family farms that grow them slowly, so the nacre is thick and the shine runs deep. Every strand is knotted by hand on silk in the atelier.

Ask to see them loose at your fitting. Holding a pearl to the light is the quickest way to see what makes a good one.

Our name

Named after the native oyster of the Colne

Ostrea edulis has been farmed in the creeks around Mersea since Roman times. We took its name, and some of its patience.
